BIO
My name is Joe, and I originally created this site because of my interest in the Compressed Air Vehicles currently being developed by MDI, and the Progressive Automotive X Prize Competition. I first read about the MDI Air Cars a year or two ago, and have been intrigued by the concept ever since. I hope to reach out to other people who share my interest and are curious to learn more about the vehicles competing in the Auto X Prize. I’m not a mechanic or automotive expert, just a big fan. I’m 29 yrs old, from a town in upstate NY about 100 miles north of NYC. I currently live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn NY, and I work for a very high end retail establishment in Manhattan as an inventory specialist.
Zero Pollution Motors (the first U.S. company licensed to build and distribute the MDI air cars) is currently based in New Paltz, NY, which is a great little town 40 minutes drive from where I grew up. I’m very interested to see how this company might impact whatever community in which it builds its production facility, and I’m hoping to report to you some positive developments there which may serve as a window to the future for many communities around the country.
You will also find the scope of material extends to topics which relate to Alternative Energy, Electric and Alternative Fuel Vehicles, the Environment, the Economy, and how these effect the overall infrastructure that will be needed as America, hopefully, transitions to these new cleaner technologies.
This website will continue to evolve along with the world we live in.
99% of the content of this site is not my own. I include posts from around the web that interest me and, hopefully, you. The purpose of this site is to serve as a sypher, to bring people with similar interests together to learn about emerging green technologies, and more specifically, the teams competing in the Auto X Prize. I am fascinated by many of these teams but I have a particular interest in the developers of the controversial “Air Car.”There is no shortage of skepticism of MDI, and I concede their technology remains to be proven.
I’ll do my best to present accurate information, and I welcome your feedback.

I have no financial or personal connection with ZPM, MDI, or any other group competing in the X Prize competition.

Since I’m not on their payroll, nor do I have any inside access to the companies developing these vehicles, I’m not particularly interested in being in a position to defend them when ever some one has something negative to say. In fact, one of the reasons I’ve become so fascinated with the MDI vehicles is because of the amount of skepticism that exists about them. I do not simply accept the claims made by the developers…I hope to see proof of performance and specs sooner rather then later. I am also well aware of statements made in the press over the past 10 years or so that production was just around the corner for these vehicles, yet so far this has not occurred.
I assure you, I consider myself to be skeptically optimistic of MDI’s chances to put these things on American roads. But I also hope they succeed. The X Prize next fall will be make or break for the Air Car in my eyes, because a whole lot of people around the world will be watching very closely, with very high expectations, including me.
BTW, If you’re impressed with this site, are based in NYC, and would like for me to do something similar for your company, please feel free to make me an offer.

Policy Statement:
Your comments and feedback are more then welcome, however I obviously reserve the right to reject any comments that I feel do not contribute substance to the topic. I also do my best to only quote the most reputable sources and verify facts to the best of my ability. One major source of irritation for someone trying to find accurate facts is that so many bloggers often quote other blogs alone as definitive sources of information. I do my best to avoid this.
Very nice!

Thanks so much Chris! I’ve updated your address in my links section to make your correct address more clear to visitors.
You’re exactly right about all the bad info out there, that’s a big reason why I decided to start my blog. And your site has been a major inspiration!
Keep up the good work, and keep in touch!

I’m another enthusiast from just south of the Arctic Ocean. I hope to see cold weather testing for the vehicles once they hit the road, including a good set of studded winter tires.
I know that the engines do not produce much heat compared to a standard gasoline engine, but I’m sure that it would be quite simple to add a larger alternator to the system and a couple of high output ceramic heaters in the defrost/heating system…
YES, this system has got me really thinking as well!
This link is sure worth checking out:
